This is my submission for the contest: "Echoes of Caer-Aurelia."
Participating in this challenge allowed me to focus my thoughts and plan a clear course of action to complete the piece on time. Throughout the process, I strengthened my skills in sculpting, texturing, and rendering. It was a pleasure to take part in this event, and I look forward to the next challenge.
Character Story:
Ho! Stranger...
Thou railest 'gainst fate, deeming thyself ill-used, as though the gods did draw for thee the shortest straw in fair Caer-Aurelia, the golden city of hope. Yet know this—only the truly unshackled may see the riches they already hold. But for those whose eyes are veiled by envy and greed, salvation cometh but through sacrifice.
I have heard of whispers in the dark—tales of a witch most foul, accursed and cunning, who walketh among mortals in the shadow'd bowels of the city. As flame tempteth the moth, so doth she draw the wretched unto her, with honey’d words and sweet deceit. Around her gather beggars and broken men, drawn by her promise to unmake their fated lot and shape a new destiny.
From lips dark as midnight she doth offer a gifted blade not of iron, but of fate itself. To wield it is to bind the very threads of time, to force desire upon the world as law.
But be not beguiled this saint is no redeemer.
All things given bear cost. Naught is ever truly free. Whispers speak, too, of the price aye, the witch feedeth upon those she hath touched. Like the mantis that slayeth her mate in feast, so doth she devour those gorged upon fulfilled dreams. When thou art fat with fortune, ripe with all thy heart hath sought—then doth she harvest.
So fare thee well, stranger.
May the hand of fate, whether cruel or kind, guide thee to thy reckon’d end.
